Many NHL fans were disappointed when NHL 2K9 was released. It was a very poor and rushed game. How does NHL 2K10 pan out? Better graphics, better puck handling, new defensive moves, a better AI , and the gem of the game, the multi-player mode. Many NHL fans have praised NHL 2K10 for its improved AI. The AI on the game has improved but the arcade-friendly game play has not. Many NHL fans can pick up and play this hockey game with virtually no problems as scoring is as easy as 1-2-3.

This is another drawback from this game. The developers of the 2K sports games are known for their simulation based sports titles. This game is far from realistic. NHL 2K10 is still an offense style game and you will not have a problem scoring goals. On the other hand, the defensive side of the game play is very weak. The goalie likes to give free goals to the opposing team, your teammates like to skate away from the puck, leaving you out in the cold. Multi-player mode on NHL 2K10 is excellent. On multi-player mode, you have to ability to create online teams, play in online tournaments and leagues. NHL 2K10 has the most innovative multi-player for a hockey game this year. You can invite your buddies to play any game mode of your choice and have tons of fun!

On Xbox Live, the most played mode is the online league mode. You can either join or create an online league. The sizes of the online leagues vary. You can have a league of four teams or an astonishing thirty teams. If you really want to turn up the heat and challenge yourself, try entering a league of 30 teams when fantasy drafts are turned on

NHL2K10's has a few tweaks over its predecessor, NHL 2K9. Many NHL fans will not be disappointed with the multi-player mode. The multi-player mode is worth the price of admission. If you want a hockey game that is based on multi-player capabilities, NHL 2K10 is the right game for you. If you want a more realistic gaming experience, NHL 10 will be your best bet. Overall, NHL 2K10 is a very solid hockey game, that many NHL fans will enjoy.
